Examiner caught up with Janson during this year's CMA Music Festival to chat about his red carpet experience, his influences growing up, playing the Grand Ole Opry and spending time with Merle Haggard, as well as his forthcoming debut album. Examiner: You’ve been to CMA Fest three times. Is there anything that surprises you? Chris Janson: Yea. This time I’m ultimately surprised because I’ve got so much stuff going on. I’m so fortunate.
